K5 Brake Rotors

Brake rotors are circular metal discs that are an integral part of the disc brake system in a K5. When you press the brake pedal, the brake calipers squeeze the brake pads against the brake rotors to create friction. This friction slows down and eventually stops the rotation of the wheel, bringing your K5 to a halt.

Slotted Rotors: Slotted rotors have slots or grooves cut into the friction surface. These slots help remove brake dust, water, and gas buildup, improving braking performance and reducing the risk of brake fade.

Drilled Rotors: Drilled rotors have holes drilled into the friction surface which lighten the rotors and help with heat dissipation. 

2 Piece Rotors: Two-piece rotors are a specialized type of brake rotor assembly that consists of two distinct components: a cast iron rotor ring and an aluminum center hat. 2 piece rotors have the advantage of big weight reduction, heat dissipation & ease of maintenance.
